Terms of Service
Use RepoNorth lawfully. It’s a private record-keeper, not a registry, not legal advice, and not affiliated with any government agency, and you’re responsible for lawfully owning whatever you log here. Cancel any time, and your data is never held hostage. The rest of this page is the full detail.
Using RepoNorth
Acceptance of Terms
By creating a RepoNorth account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use RepoNorth. We may update these Terms as described in §15; continuing to use the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
What RepoNorth Is
RepoNorth is a private, personal inventory application for individual collectors: a place to record what you own, what it’s worth, and its history. RepoNorth is not a registry. We are not affiliated with, and do not report to, the ATF, any law enforcement agency, or any government body of any kind.
We are also not a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL), a dealer, a broker, an appraiser, or a marketplace. RepoNorth never facilitates, brokers, lists, or processes the sale, purchase, or transfer of any item, and no transaction of any kind occurs on or through the Service. It is a record-keeping tool, and nothing else.
Your Account & Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Signing up requires your name, email address, ZIP code, and a password; everything else, item details, photos, notes, is entered entirely at your discretion.
Accounts are for individual use, one person per account, and sharing your login credentials with anyone other than through a designated Viewer relationship (§8) isn’t permitted. You’re responsible for keeping your password and two-factor authentication device secure, and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your Responsibility as an Owner
RepoNorth helps you keep records; it doesn’t make you compliant. You are solely responsible for lawfully owning, storing, transporting, transferring, and registering every item you choose to log, under all applicable federal, state, and local law.
Nothing in the Service, including NFA timeline tracking, reminders, or audit logs, is legal advice, a substitute for legal advice, or a guarantee of any filing, approval, or processing time by the ATF or any other agency. If you have questions about the legality of owning, modifying, or transferring an item, talk to a qualified attorney or your local FFL, not us.
Plans, Conduct & Content
Plans, Billing & Cancellation
RepoNorth offers a Free plan and three paid plans, Standard, Pro, and Platinum, billed monthly or annually as described on our Pricing page. Paid plans renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel; cancel any time from Account → Subscription, effective at the end of your current billing period, with no partial refunds for time already paid. The one exception is annual plans: if you request it within the first 30 days of an annual term, we’ll refund that annual payment in full. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice before any price increase takes effect on your next renewal.
If your account exceeds the Free tier’s 10-item limit, typically because a paid subscription lapsed, you keep full access for a 30-day grace period. After that, the collection becomes read-only: every item stays visible and exportable, but adding and editing pause until you’re back under the limit or you resubscribe. We never delete your data or hold it hostage for non-payment.
Acceptable Use
Beyond the ownership responsibilities in §4, you agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, per §13.
Your Content & Data
You own everything you enter into RepoNorth, item records, photos, notes, and files. You grant us only the limited license needed to store, back up, encrypt, and display that content back to you, and to anyone you deliberately share it with (§8). We make no claim of ownership over your content, and we never use it for anything beyond operating the Service for you, see our Privacy Policy for the full commitment.
You’re responsible for the accuracy of what you enter; we don’t independently verify item details, valuations, or NFA status.
Sharing, Viewers & Emergency Access
Paid plans let you invite Viewers, who get read-only access to your collection until you revoke it, and, on Pro and Platinum, set up Emergency Access, which is fully automated: you name a beneficiary and an inactivity window, we send you repeated warnings as that window runs, and access unlocks only if you never respond and your beneficiary confirms control of the email address you designated.
You are solely responsible for who you invite and who you name as a beneficiary. RepoNorth is not a party to, and is not liable for, any dispute between you, a Viewer, or a beneficiary over access granted or revoked through these features.
Text Message (SMS) Notifications
If you add a mobile phone number to your account, you may separately opt in, it’s never required, to receive text messages for account and security alerts: sign-in notices, low-ammo reminders, and Emergency Access status updates. This program is transactional only. We never send marketing or promotional texts, and message frequency depends entirely on your own account activity, not a fixed schedule.
Msg & data rates may apply. Freq. varies.
See our Privacy Policy for how we handle a phone number you provide.
The Legal Detail
Export, Deletion & Portability
Full export of your collection, in open formats (CSV/JSON), is available any time, on every plan, forever, this is never a paid feature and never gated. Delete your account whenever you want from Account → Settings; it’s gone, including backups, within 30 days. We recommend exporting first.
Intellectual Property
RepoNorth, the RepoNorth name and logo, and the software, design, and branding of the Service are our property (or that of our licensors). These Terms don’t grant you any right to use them beyond accessing the Service as intended.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Estimated values you enter or that we display are exactly that, your own estimates, not an appraisal, and we don’t guarantee their accuracy or that they reflect real market value.
To the fullest extent the law allows, RepoNorth isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited under applicable law.
Termination
You can close your account any time (§10). We may suspend or terminate an account that violates §6, involves fraud or chargebacks, or where we’re required to by law; where practical, we’ll tell you why. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including §7, §11, §12, §16, and §17, do.
Law Enforcement Requests
We respond to valid legal process only, a warrant or court order, never an informal request, and we notify you whenever we’re legally permitted to. Full detail, including our annual transparency report, lives in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We’ll post the revised version here with a new effective date, and for material changes, we’ll make a reasonable effort to notify you directly. Continuing to use RepoNorth after a change takes effect means you accept it.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which RepoNorth is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at [email protected]; if that doesn’t resolve it, disputes will be handled through binding individual arbitration rather than in court, and you agree to resolve claims on an individual basis, not as part of a class action, to the extent permitted by law.
